Bret Van Horn
Photography has been a big part of my life for 40-some years now. From capturing to film the landscapes and skateboarders of Bellingham, Washington in the ’80s, to my friends’ bands in Portland during the ’90s and early 2000s, to now where I shoot mostly digital, I keep coming back. There’s always more to learn and new ways to see things. Ultimately, it’s something that helps me reconnect with the physical world, especially after spending most of my time working as a software engineer. It relaxes me and gives me something tangible to lean on. Maybe someone else will connect with these pictures I make. Maybe you will. But if not, that’s fine too.
